Geoffrey Eastop

Artist's Statement:

Having been trained as a painter I have worked for many years towards a unification of a painters concepts of surface, form and colour with the 3-dimensional structure of ceramics. Most recently this has resulted in work which is essentially sculptural in charater but is frequently combined with surfaces that are usually associated with the techniques of painting. Also I believe that an essential requirement of any art work is that it should have a conceptual ingredient which can enhance its primary significance.
