Sarah Purvey

Biography

Sarah Purvey was born in Middlesex and moved to Devon in 1986 to study 3-D design at Plymouth College of Art. Sarah moved on to study at Bath College of Higher Education achieving her BA Honours Degree in Ceramics in 1991.

Sarah returned to work with clay in 2007 and undertook her MA in Ceramics at Bath School of Art, Bath Spa University receiving her Masters Degree in 2009. On finishing the course Sarah has remained a Resident Artist at the University's Corsham Court Postgraduate Center, the former home of Bath Academy of Art.

In July 2010 Sarah received full membership to the Devon Guild of Craftsmen in Bovey Tracey. In October Sarah was awarded the First Prize by the panel for her two ceramic forms submitted to the Pound Arts Open, Pound Pill, Wiltshire.

In November 2010 Sarah exhibited work at Gallery 27 Cork Street in a joint venture between with the Katharine House Gallery Marlborough and Askew Art Based in Henley on Thames in an exhibition entitled Post War British Art.

Sarah has work on permanent display within the Art Collection at the Corsham Court Center Wiltshire.
