Provenance
Private collection, LondonCollector's note "Bernard Leach thought that Norah Braden was the most gifted of his students. She left St Ives in 1926 to join Katherine Pleydell-Bouverie at Coleshill in Wiltshire, where both made pottery and experimented with glazes. In 1936 she moved to Sussex, living at Rock Cottage, an almost derelict building on a country estate. In later life, she was evicted and the cottage was sold. The new owners discovered some fifty tea chests full of pots wrapped in newspaper. This item was among them."
